Developing creative thinkers, what does that mean? It means we are getting students to think more deeply about math concepts. Starting young with students having the practice as well as the higher level thinking of understanding number relationships. We start with simple arithmetic strategies, having students master a concept and then using that knowledge to develop strategies for other problems.
